The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has vowed to track down one of its officers caught on video extorting a motorist.
According to a Twitter handle that monitors the activities of LASTMA officers, LASTMA Diary, the driver had pulled up to ease himself when he was billed N35,000 on the spot but negotiated it down to N5,000.
The unidentified officer was seen taking the money discreetly.
Reacting via its Twitter handle, LASTMA thanked the medium for bringing the situation to the traffic authority’s attention while promising to make the disciplinary process of the said officer public.
“Thank you for bringing this act to our attention, we will surely track down the taker of this graft as soon as possible and make public the disciplinary process,” it tweeted.
